Everything was clean and fresh, and the shower was wonderfully warm; it was nice that water, tea, and a kettle were available. The room was small and cramped, and the property was hard to reach in bad weather – I had to ride a scooter through mud that kept slipping, leaving me muddy on my shoes. There were a lot of flies around, and if the doors weren’t shut, they would quickly invade the room.

I booked a Batur sunrise hike through the host, which was easy and good. The room was nothing like the advertised one – it wasn’t very clean or well maintained, smelled of smoke even though it was listed as non‑smoking, and there was no way to ventilate or open a window. There was no storage space, so everything lay on the floor; the door lock was inconveniently positioned at the bottom of the door; a lake view was advertised but not present; the Wi‑Fi kept failing. Overall, I expected something entirely different and felt uncomfortable. It felt like a prototype that had just been opened for bookings. I had three nights booked but only stayed one because I didn’t enjoy it. It’s cheap, so I understand expectations are low, but I’ve stayed in nicer places for the same price here in Bali.

Not bad if you look at it from a distance – it’s pretty. I can’t figure out why this great review exists… the house wasn’t cleaned when we arrived, the toilet had residue left by previous guests, and the floor, the wall, and the seat were all covered in filth. When I pointed this out to the host, he dismissed the toilet paper and then casually said it was fine now. Trash was everywhere, the surroundings were scandalous, completely disappointing, dirty, and full of flies. It was very disturbing.

The accommodation was pleasant, bright, and fairly clean. Because the room’s door was glass, sound insulation wasn’t great, but the place was quiet enough that it wasn’t too bothersome. There was a lot of limescale on the shower walls and the wooden shower tray wasn’t very clean.
