Despite a long‑term reservation and brief communication, we arrived at the property at 22:30 after a seven‑hour drive, had received the key code and room number through the check‑in system, yet the code was rejected. We never got the key and could not enter. The hotel’s emergency number, which we called multiple times, was ineffective. We were then arranged a new accommodation at night, but on the way a badger ran in front of our car, preventing us from continuing our vacation to Sardinia. We are extremely upset about the unfulfilled reservation and all its consequences; no one should start a holiday like that. I have been a long‑time customer, but this experience was completely new for us.
