Great location, but unfortunately, it's let down by overpriced rooms and subpar facilities. The area is fantastic, but the hotel itself doesn't quite live up to the hype.

Hotel Relais Il Cestello, located in Piazza del Cestello, offers unforgettable views of River Arno and the Cestello Church. Rooms feature wooden furniture and free Wi-Fi, with some overlooking the Borgo Ognissanti area. The hotel is a short walk from Ponte Vecchio and serves breakfast in its main hall with views of the Cestello Church and Arno.

The hotel's location was a major plus, but unfortunately, it was overshadowed by some pretty significant issues. We stayed here from Friday to Tuesday, and it was like a ghost town - not a single staff member was ever around. The lobby had all the makings of a decent breakfast spot, but it was just a bunch of empty tables and a tiny kitchen. To top it off, the lobby was up a flight of stairs, and our room was another flight up, which would be a real challenge for elderly people.

No reception, unpleasant staff! I really can’t recommend this place.

I was really looking forward to a relaxing stay, but things got off to a rocky start. The hotel's location is great, but the issues I encountered made it hard to enjoy. The room was clean and the bed was comfy, but the lack of hot water for the first two days was a major bummer. And to make matters worse, the air conditioning unit was stuck on full blast, which made it hard to get a good night's sleep.

This place is a gem in a fantastic location. The owner is super helpful and knowledgeable about the area, which is a real bonus. The bedroom and en-suite were spotless and really comfortable, and the quietness was a welcome surprise given how close we were to the bustle of the city. It's a short walk to all the main sights like the Ufizzi and Piti Palace, and there are loads of great cafes and restaurants nearby to grab a coffee or a bite to eat.
