“Loin de tout...”
The contact with Theodora, a Peruvian countryside woman who tells us about her lifestyle, traditions, and family, was valuable. The calm of the place and the view from the room over the lake and countryside were nice. She took time to help us with our arrangements (taxi booking, excursion to the Urros islands). This isn’t a critique of the establishment but information about the location: Llachon is only reachable by road (no boat shuttles from Puno). We had to leave at 4 am by taxi to reach Puno in time for our bus to La Paz (departure at 6 am). On the way back, from Juliaca, the taxi was reluctant to take us to Llachon and raised the fare significantly mid‑trip. I had written to L’hospedaje Saywa to ask for practical arrival and departure info for Llachon. Theodora’s daughter, who handles exchanges and bookings from Puno, replied via the platform very briefly and abruptly, and I didn’t get the information before we left. Theodora, however, did her best to help us on site.
