“Perfect for an Istanbul layover — exceptionally kind staff and wonderful with our toddler”

We stayed at Menalo Hotel Premium for one night during a long layover in Istanbul, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The hotel is very quiet, attractive, and comfortable; our room was spotless, and the restaurant food was genuinely good. It’s remarkably toddler‑friendly. What really made the stay exceptional was the staff. Cemal at reception was incredibly helpful and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Denis and Barkay at the restaurant were wonderful with our toddler – they turned on one of the outdoor heaters to make him comfortable, and Denis even took time to play with him, which our son absolutely loved. Selahattin, who drove our hotel transfer from Istanbul Airport, was fantastic as well. He waited for us despite delays at passport control and drove extremely smoothly and carefully. The same goes for Halan, who drove us back to the airport – a true gentleman and professional. Anyone familiar with Istanbul traffic will appreciate what a compliment this is: we honestly cannot remember ever feeling safer on the highways here. Enes, the bell attendant, was extremely helpful and attentive throughout our arrival. This was an impromptu overnight stay, so unlike our usual trips to Turkey we hadn’t had a chance to prepare any Turkish cash for tips. I especially wanted to make sure that these staff members received some recognition for how well they treated our family. For anyone with a long connection at Istanbul Airport, I would strongly recommend Menalo. It is close to the airport while feeling peaceful and removed from it, and it gave our toddler exactly the quiet, comfortable night we were hoping for. We may only be here for one night this time, but the next time we are in Istanbul, we would happily choose Menalo again. Nothing else. Some might take issue with the satellite TV being a bit slow but we didn’t really care about that.

I usually stay at Hilton, but this time it was fully booked, so I tried Menalo and I’m so glad I did! I was extremely pleased with my stay. The hotel, staff, and facilities were fantastic, and in my opinion, even better than Hilton. The price was also slightly cheaper, which was an added bonus. I will definitely choose Menalo from now on. A special mention to the evening and morning staff, who were absolutely amazing – friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout my stay. Thank you for such a lovely experience. I’ll definitely be back! ⭐️ Nothing else.

“It was good.”

The hotel is beautiful. Getting to it at night was an issue. It was far away from everything else, and we needed it at night until the morning, but nothing was accessible that late at night.
