“Acceptable but wouldn’t stay there again - sorry.”

The two staff members on site—the cook, who made a very nice breakfast, and the receptionist who seemed to do everything—were lovely. The place was very tired and needs a complete update to reach basic standards; the walls were thin, so you could hear conversations in the next room clearly. It wasn’t what I expected, but the two staff I met were very nice and helpful. If you’re planning a walking holiday, the location is great.

The staff were helpful, even carrying my luggage up the stairs, and the breakfast was tasty and met my expectations. The hotel boasts a lovely garden that serves as a workspace and learning spot for disabled adults. Tall guests should watch their heads, as the building dates back to a time when people were shorter. The hotel’s history is fascinating—make sure you explore it.

“A excellent place to stay!”

The staff were welcoming and friendly, the old building was charming, parking was secure, breakfast was good, and the town centre of Eastbourne was easily reachable. A second pillow would have been a big plus.

There was no lift, no iron or ironing board in the room, breakfast was subpar, the carpark had cold, shocking potholes, and overall it’s not a place I’d book again.
