The beds and pillows were clean and comfortable, it was a very short walk to downtown, and breakfast was delivered to your door; it was perfect for us.

If you want to stay in North Beach, this spot fits the bill. It sits right in the heart of the neighborhood and captures a 60s vibe, with each room styled to match that era. The building’s age means you’ll have to climb stairs with luggage, and there’s no parking available, which can be a hassle in such a busy area.

The place is great because it’s a short stroll to downtown, and we even enjoyed the free wine tasting next door, which was lovely. The vibe at Tank was fantastic and the staff there were very friendly. The room itself was cramped, and the bathroom had a glass panel in the shower but no proper door, which felt odd. It’s an older property that’s been updated and kept in decent shape. We appreciated that the continental breakfast could be delivered to our room, but the selection was weak and it’s annoying that they charge extra for coffee or tea. You basically get a couple of hard‑boiled eggs and a muffin, which is not as good as what a budget hotel would offer. Plus, you have to pick a time the night before. On the second day we just walked to a coffee shop that opened at 6:30, so it’s not a good fit for early risers.

It’s easy to walk around downtown Calistoga and hit several restaurants from this spot, and the breakfasts were served promptly to the room with a nice variety for a continental spread. The front desk staff were very friendly. The walls are thin, the rooms are small, and the noise from the main road nearby can be a bit disruptive.
