How guests rate the property, aspect by aspect.
The staff were friendly and the location was pretty. We felt the price was a bit high for what we received. We wanted to add another night with a discount since we were the only guests and it was low season, but instead we could add a private city tour with a BBQ for only $100, which we thought was a little expensive. Also, the food was not as great as our other stays; the chicken was very dry.

The staff—Bandara, Ubepala, Kavishka—were friendly and helpful, and they cooked great meals. The rooms were comfortable with A/C. The garden by the lake needs a bit of TLC, but otherwise nothing to complain about.

There is a fantastic boat on the lake where you can dine and play games while a wide variety of birds catch their fish. The owner took us to a local farm, and we cooked a vegetable curry together on the farmer’s land. It was a truly special experience, unlike many places where tourism already makes you line up at the back. The owner loves to talk about the land, culture, and history.

We slept wonderfully in the spacious tents. My daughter asked for Sri Lankan pancakes and had the honor of making them that morning, which was an incredible experience. The dinner was also very well organized, and we were lucky to have it on the boat by the lake. Nothing was too much to ask for, everything was neat and well maintained. The pool was also ideal in temperature and well kept.
