The room was very tasteful, uniform, and modern. It was clean and cozy. The accommodation is attractive and offers private parking. The highlights of York are within a short walking distance. The venue is a popular pub among locals, with music and a program; I really enjoyed the loud, always upbeat atmosphere until late at night.

Great location. The restaurant turned out to be closed. Dogs were sitting on the bar stools with their poop on them, and there was dog poop on the parking lot.

The hotel was close enough to the city centre and the room was a decent size, with a separate entrance from the pub so you didn't have to walk through the main building to get to your room. The price was reasonable and cheap, but the room wasn’t well cleaned or prepared when we arrived. The bathroom door didn’t close all the way, which made privacy a problem, and there was a lot of dust and stains around the room. Noise was exceptionally high because it sits right above the pub, and the metal stairs up to the accommodation were unstable and unsteady, especially at night, making it hard to get back after a night out in the city.

Leaving it. Shabby rusty dodgy stairs into it

The public pub area was friendly and welcoming, especially the landlady, and the basic room was clean and tidy, but the fire escape to the room was poorly maintained, the bathroom door had no catch, the shower rail was loose, the toilet roll holder was broken, there was no sink plug, no towel hook, no hot water for three days, Wi‑Fi failed for the first two days, the outdoor facilities were unattractive, the food was unreliable, TV only had ITV channels and poor quality, and the offered refund was never issued.
