The place was clean and presentable, very practical. The stairway is steep, with the bathroom on the ground floor and the bedrooms upstairs.

The location was good, but there was a distinct odor that I couldn't identify, and it wasn’t pleasant. You have to go down the stairs at night to use the restroom. Everything was old and outdated except the bathroom. I usually don’t read reviews closely unless the score is questionable, but this slipped past me. I would have paid an extra $100 to stay in an odor‑free room with a comfortable bed.

The location was perfect for a three‑day getaway in a small apartment. The host was amazing and offered anything else we might need. The apartment was very clean, and we’ll definitely return. Beware of the stairs—typical for the area. I had a love‑hate relationship with them; they won on the first night, so I slept on the sofa bed in the living room, which was still very comfortable.

It was about a block from the marina, but the property needs major renovations and upkeep. The electricity is likely not up to code; many outlets are ancient, and the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors lack batteries or are not wired. A strong mildew odor lingered, along with dusty cobwebs and dead spiders. The stairs are a huge liability and an accident waiting to happen. The pictures are somewhat deceiving; I should have zoomed in to see cracks in the molding by the stairs. The railing is loose, has been reattached several times due to multiple drill holes, and is loosely attached to the wall, creating a fairly high drop to the floor on the other side—extremely dangerous. This is not family‑friendly for children or anyone with slight mobility issues. We avoided the kitchen because the cabinets were in such bad condition they needed replacement. The back screen door is damaged and tied shut to prevent it from swinging open and closed in the wind. The view from the kitchen window is another neglected area. When we first walked in, my daughter cried and didn’t want to stay because she felt it was creepy, old, and dirty. There were no light switches except in the entryway; these rooms were dark and had a lamp or two for lighting, so you had to find the lamp switch or pull switch to get light. Overall, it was not a good experience. The shower had plenty of hot water, and the location is a short walk to the marina and 5 minutes from SUNY Oswego, which is convenient. I’m sure this review will be deleted because of the lack of negative reviews for this place. This place is a liability and someone will get injured on those stairs.
