The hosts were the kindest we’ve ever met, warm, welcoming, and made us feel at home. The location was perfect—quiet and just a few streets from great bars and restaurants. The room was very clean, the mattress super comfortable, and we loved the balcony; we slept best. As backpackers we found it luxurious. If we return to Yogyakarta, we’ll definitely stay here again. The only downside was that the bathroom was very small and the drain didn’t smell good, but we’re okay with that as it’s part of living in Indonesia and not the hosts’ fault.

I stayed in a clean room that came with drinks and bread for breakfast, but the balcony rule—no use after 9 pm for residents’ comfort—felt irrelevant to me, and the non‑married policy made me wonder if the hotel should have become a Sharia‑compliant property.

The place looked nice and the staff were super friendly, but getting in by car was a hassle and the bathroom door was too narrow for my liking.

Everything looked great at first glance, but the facilities were a nightmare: no curtain over the large window, which the staff fixed by hammering two nails into the frame and hanging a dirty cloth; the shower spray was so weak I couldn’t actually shower; the sink was loose on the cabinet and would fall if you bumped it; the drain let toothpaste and other stuff spill onto the floor, so I kept slipping; the towels had insect eggs on them, though the staff promptly replaced them; after one night I left for another place because it was just too bad.
