I stayed for five nights and six days for a conference and found the location superb—right by the station, just past exit 1 of Zhongxiao‑Fuxing, and the hotel sits under a 95 % glass façade, which is handy in rainy Taipei. The property isn’t brand‑new or ultra‑glamorous, but it’s clean enough and, given the price, I was personally very satisfied. Dining options were excellent; a short walk to Sogo Fuxing brings you to Din Tai Fung and a tidy supermarket, while nearby local eateries within a 1‑5 minute walk (such as Da‑Niang‑Shui‑Jian‑Bao, Mantang Tainan‑Shi‑Mu‑Yu Andong, and Nichi‑Nichiyaki) are cheap and tasty, with Famima, 7‑Eleven and Sukiya available for those who prefer familiar chains. The front desk staff were friendly, and even simple services like trash collection and towel changes came with two bottles of water daily. On the downside, the age of the facilities—or perhaps the surrounding AC units—meant a constant low‑level hum that didn’t keep a light sleeper from drifting off, but it could be a nuisance for the very sound‑sensitive. The room door didn’t seal tightly, so hallway and opposite‑room noises were audible, though I didn’t hear sounds through the walls. Finally, there were few power outlets, so guests traveling in groups should bring a power strip.

The location was great, but the bathroom drainage was poor, the dehumidifier was full of water before we arrived and hadn’t been emptied, and the soundproofing left much to be desired.

The place feels really comfortable, the staff are extremely friendly, and they serve tasty little biscuits along with coffee, drinks and water – truly a laid‑back operation.

Location could not be better, but the room I was assigned this time was a bit dusty, the wallpaper was peeling and had gaps; it was my first stay in this particular room, whereas the ones I’d used before were quite decent.
