The location was excellent—just one block from the White House—and the hotel was very walkable with a metro station right next to it. We chose a studio to have more space, and there was a floor with a seated area where free hot drinks were available to chat with friends. Some of the reception staff were not helpful or welcoming, though others were lovely. The hotel is comfortable and offers good value for money, but it’s a no‑frills place and that’s what we expected. They provide discounts for the coffee shop across the road, but you have to ask for it—my discount wasn’t applied and the full breakfast ended up being expensive.

The location is great, just a stone’s throw from the White House, and the metro station is literally under the hotel, making train travel a seamless experience. One day I found a large cockroach on the window; it must have gotten in through the door because the windows were basically sealed. The hotel couldn’t move me to another room that day because they were fully booked. The next day they moved me into the biggest apartment they had and offered a free one‑day voucher across their locations, but that voucher was pretty useless to me since I won’t be in D.C. anytime soon. My attempts to get reimbursed for the night were in vain; they refused.
