“All very satisfactory”
We dined at the hotel and the dinner was excellent; the view from our Standard room was a bonus, even though it was a side window, and we loved seeing the bay. Nothing negative.

Modern décor, spotless, great shower, courteous and very friendly staff, background music at breakfast was appreciated, outdoor patio and perfect location. The bar area was especially nice. Room: although a stool and a perfectly positioned makeup mirror were provided, it was let down by poor lighting. The hairdryer was wired to the wall, which made it hard to use fully when drying. The room was hot even with the radiator off; there was no AC but a fan was supplied. Food: breakfast had a good selection and an excellent coffee machine. One evening meal featured an excellent starter (Makhrani king prawn with cracked popudum) followed by a disappointing main (Taverners chicken 'dry'). Staff were excellent.

Breakfast was great, with good produce and a wide selection of yoghurts, pastries, etc.; dinner was very nice and we enjoyed every meal, with good service from the staff each time we visited the dining room. However, building work was ongoing at the main entrance, and sometimes someone was working above us, passing through the door; a workman insulted me, which was not very pleasant. I understand that work needs to be done, but it could have been scheduled at night; the plaster work was a bit of a downside to the holiday feeling, as it seemed to happen while we were on vacation. We had booked a few days earlier and had been busy at our property for weeks, so the small building work was a nuisance.

The location was beautiful, the room was clean and gorgeous, and the food was lovely. We waited over 20 minutes to check in because nobody was at the desk, and when the staff member finally arrived she was rude and abrupt, as if I were bothering her.

The hotel is lovely and has a great atmosphere, wonderful views, and friendly, helpful staff. There are great walks along the coast, and the bar and restaurant were excellent, with drinks at decent prices and food that was excellent. No negatives.
