I liked the spring water and the ambience of the onsen, but the room lacked basic items like a hand towel and toothbrush; when I asked for them, the staff never apologized, and the porter who helped with my luggage didn’t say thank you, nor did any employee in the hallway when I checked out. It seems the staff haven’t been properly trained.

The location was great and, with clear weather, the view was stunning while the water was superb; unfortunately, bears showed up, so I couldn’t enjoy the open‑air bath’s scenery, which was a real letdown.

We were thrilled with the spot, the onsen, and the buffet exceeded our expectations; the rooms feel a bit dated, but that old‑school vibe adds to the charm. The only gripe was that the onsen etiquette instructions could be clearer—maybe a written do‑and‑don’t guide would prevent any confusion.

The onsen and the snowy scenery were great.
