The hotel's amenities were somewhat basic

“Very relaxing break in best accommodation at Tutukaka Marina.”
I was upgraded to Level 3 for a better view, and the room looked straight out onto the Marina, which was stunning. The only downside was that there was no hair dryer, though the room was in the middle of a small renovation.
“Great place to stay for a weekend in Tutukaka”
The location is great, the rooms are nice, and the breakfast was delicious.
“Great location but expensive for what it is, and the common areas need a big and tasteful glow-up”
The location was excellent. The staff greeted us warmly, the linens were fluffy and the towels clean, and the breakfast was tasty. However, the off‑peak rate was high compared to other North Island hotspots I visit. The beds were hard and the pillows lumpy, so toppers and a better pillow selection would help. The restaurant was closed for dinner in low season, even though the hotel had told us it was open. The exterior looked like a children’s daycare centre and was an eyesore. The back garden was neglected with half‑dead trees. The lift was worn and poorly painted. Hallways were scuffed, the carpet had dirty stains, and the overall feel was more like a hostel than a hotel – it really needs a major spruce‑up.
“Beautiful, peaceful location”
The staff were friendly and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble.
The place is in a great spot, the apartment is huge, the beds are comfy, and the kitchen is well equipped with tea, milk, etc., offering good value for money. It does need a serious renovation and new carpets.
