The bathroom drainage was an issue.

The location was excellent, on a quiet street but within walking distance of restaurants, bars, markets, shopping centres and tuk-tuks in all directions. The staff on reception were friendly and spoke English. On the first night we received two breakfast vouchers; breakfast was standard but overall tasty. Our room had a pleasant view of a small sea, and the hotel had recently been renovated. The site used to have a different hotel. However, there were several negatives: the floor in the rooms isn’t cleaned (I understand it isn’t cleaned anywhere, but it would be better if it were cleaned between guests), the noise between rooms was intense (though that’s standard for such hotels); a couple of nights the neighbours were noisy, otherwise it was quiet. There was a sewage smell in the bathroom, which is very sad. The old air‑conditioner was noisy, and the minibar’s refrigerator was new but also noisy, clearly not meant for residential rooms. On one day the room outside had no “do not disturb” sign, and we were woken at 11 am by persistent knocking and offers to clean the room; we kept knocking back until I told them “thanks, no need.” The gym was weak: the open‑space room on the second floor had a few machines and no air‑conditioning, and the treadmill was noisy. Overall, a couple of workouts were enough. Some of these issues could and should be improved: at least hang “do not disturb” signs and fix the bathroom smells. At best, replace the air‑conditioners – they clearly need replacement.

A huge room, every facility you could need, and a great spot to stay.

Every day a terrible stench from the toilet woke us up; the staff completely ignored our complaints. The Wi‑Fi was unusable, and the air‑conditioner was a disaster – it blew straight into our faces, making us sick, or we had to sleep in the heat. The view was awful, with trash and pests. Definitely a place to avoid.
