The decor was nice, yet the food was far too minimal for someone who has stayed all over the world, with pretentious and twee portions that left me dissatisfied; the bed mattress, which had needed replacing about 10 years ago, sagged to one side and a topper offered a poor rescue.

The food matched what I expected, but the bathroom was small, there was no easy chair, and the attic location of the room—without a lift—made me hesitant to rate the hotel 4*.

The staff were very attentive and friendly, all informed about our engagement, and they went the extra mile to look after us.

Everything was perfect, and there isn’t anything bad to say.
