The place was spotless and the hosts were fantastic, and the breakfast was delicious; it sits in a lovely spot with a tea shop right across the road and a bus stop just outside. The only gripe I had was that the Lilly’s flowers had a strong scent that stuck to my chest, but I mentioned it to the staff and they moved the flowers promptly, so it was a minor issue.

The room and meals were superb, and the staff were very friendly, showing genuine care for guests and striving to do their best. The location was beautiful and quiet, though it took a bit to figure out how to turn on the hot water in the shower.

“Hidden gem”

We had an amazing stay! The house is gorgeous and set in stunning countryside, with red squirrels and deer running around like a fairy tale. Garry, Donna and their staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The only problem was the food—you won’t want to eat anywhere else after trying their delicious cooking! Every dish we had (we chose the pescatarian menu) was imaginative, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, and the final dessert—the panna cotta—was pure heaven. Five stars from us.
