“Good modern hotel convenient for boat arrivals from Tarakan”
This modern hotel is pleasant and close to the river jetty where the Tarakan boats dock. It’s a quiet spot beside the river—except for the mosque next door—and a few kilometres from the city. The room was spacious, bright, and the bed comfortable. However, when we arrived there was a tobacco‑like, blocked‑drain smell, and the shower drain was clogged, so we had to ask for it to be cleaned. The restaurant promised a lot but fell short; many menu items were missing at lunch or dinner, though the ones that were available were decent. Breakfast was disappointing, mainly Asian items and weak coffee. The staff were very pleasant, and the lobby was a cool, comfortable place to sit. Free juice and baked goods were offered at times. Wi‑Fi was strong, and the riverside walk at sunset was lovely. Hygiene could be better and the restaurant menu needs improvement.
