“Wunderschön und unvergesslich.”
Hassan and his team were fantastic, the camp beautiful, the beds comfy and the camels well cared for—highly recommended! The only hitch was not knowing the day’s schedule beforehand, which made communication tricky: we met at the midday point in Merzouga and then waited there until after 4 pm. We could rest and eat, but had we known we’d only get to the camp late afternoon, we would have arrived later. Around 4 pm we drove to a nearby petrol station, left the car, transferred only essential luggage to jeeps, and headed into the desert on camels for about 2.5 hours, even climbing a high dune for sandboarding. After watching the sunset we finally reached the camp where our luggage waited. Payment was cash in euros on site; the jeep/camel ride cost €20 per person. Knowing this in advance would have helped, maybe for others too! Still, the camp and everyone working there are wonderful.
