Dinner and breakfast were solid, and parking was convenient. The room was on the top floor, very cramped; at 6 feet tall I had to hunch to move around. The shower was open, so water splashed onto the floor and I couldn’t stop it.

The location was excellent, only a 10‑15 minute walk to restaurants, shops, and the castle. Being a small, independently run hotel made me feel like a real guest instead of just another number. Our room was spacious and comfortable, apparently an upgrade from the standard we booked. Breakfast was superb, offering cooked options and catering well to my vegan wife. Nothing to complain about.

The staff were friendly and attentive. We were in room 8 on the top floor, and the sloping roof made the space feel a bit cramped, causing a few accidental bumps on our heads.

I stayed in “the cottage” next to the main building—it was clean and cozy. The main hotel is in a great spot near the Cathedral and river, quiet enough for a good night’s sleep. Even with the owners’ extra security measures, I still felt a little uneasy.
