“Remote rustic in nature.”

The view was beautiful, yet the place was hard to reach and the frogs were very loud at night—nothing the staff could control, but worth noting. The staff were friendly, but the price made me expect better service; the food was okay, but for Vietnam it usually feels better. Breakfast was very minimal, only apples and no fresh fruit.

“perilleux mais exceptionnel”

We loved everything—the setting, the staff, the food. We just wished there were fewer storms and less nighttime rain, which ruined the roads and caused landslides.

“Not worth the price. More of a ‘rustic eco cottage’.”

I didn’t think the price was worth it; it felt more like a rustic eco‑cottage than a lodge, so I’d suggest capping it at $25 USD per night. We paid $60 USD. Cockroaches appeared in the bathroom and bedroom at night. The pool was green from algae and not fit for swimming. The location was very remote: a one‑hour drive off the main road to HaGiang, on winding, sometimes dangerously tight roads. The scenery and location were beautiful, and the bungalows sit over a dam full of frogs, so if you’re not used to nature sounds you might not sleep well. It probably was good when new but hasn’t aged well. Don’t ride here unless you’re an experienced rider; get a driver or car. When you arrive, there’s nothing else nearby, so you can only eat at the restaurant. The food was very nice. There was no fridge or air‑con. The staff were very nice. Cockroaches in the bathroom and bedroom at night. The pool was green from algae and not suitable for swimming. It probably was good when new but has not stood up well to ageing. No fridge.
