We stayed at Indigen Boutique Hotel Cao Bang and it was a delightful experience. The staff greeted us right away with an umbrella to help us in the rain. Check‑in was smooth and there was a spacious, secure parking spot for our large motorbikes. We also appreciated the quick, friendly contact through WhatsApp before arrival. The room was huge and very spacious – the biggest hotel in all of Vietnam in our opinion. The bed was large and extremely comfortable, the shower was wonderful, and everything was spotless. We stayed for three nights and the room was cleaned daily. Normally we don’t watch Netflix on vacation, but the comfort here was so good that we even watched a film. The hotel didn’t offer breakfast (or we didn’t book it), but that was no problem. Nearby you can grab delicious bánh mì and there are plenty of cozy cafés for a good cup of coffee. Within 5 to 10 minutes on foot you’re right in the centre of Cao Bang. When I had an issue with my motorbike and wanted to check if the local Honda dealer had a specific tyre in stock, the front desk called around for us immediately. We found that incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful! I would recommend this hotel 100 % – it was fantastic in every way. Nothing to complain about.
“Super hôtel”
The building’s architecture, greenery, service quality, cleanliness, and help finding a driver for a walk and a bus to leave are all great. The breakfast could be more Western‑friendly (banh mi or pho soup with duck). We mentioned this, they asked what we’d prefer, and the next day they met our expectations with toast, butter, and jam. Very nice.
We booked three rooms for two separate stays on 29/7/26; the property is brand‑new, the rooms spotless and nicely decorated. The front desk isn’t always staffed with someone who speaks English, there’s no breakfast offered but Vietnamese breakfast spots are easy to find nearby. They’ll hold your luggage if you head out on a few‑day excursion, and oddly enough there’s a foot‑towel in the bathroom. The value for money is excellent.
The new, elegant, and impeccably clean facility offers a large room with a private balcony that has a small table, two chairs, and a rain‑shutter. The bathroom has a working shower and a large window overlooking the balcony. The staff are always helpful and efficient, swapping towels every day, and assisting with booking a private car and driver for tours of Ban Gioc waterfalls, Engel Eye mountain, and the lake at fair prices. The receptionist also helped us order dinner in the room from a pizzeria during heavy rain, all for €30 a night – highly recommended.
On 27/6/26 we reserved three rooms for two trips; the hotel is completely new, the rooms clean and tastefully furnished. The reception doesn’t always have an English‑speaking staff member, there’s no breakfast but Vietnamese breakfast options are readily available. They’ll store your bags while you explore the area for a few days, and surprisingly there’s a foot‑towel in the bathroom. The price‑quality ratio is superb.
