The front desk was great, and the pool was a highlight; there was nothing to dislike.

The location in East Memphis was great, but the presence of the National Guard made my grandkids terrified. A security guard at the front desk was dressed in full SWAT Team gear, complete with a ballistic vest and drop holster. When we checked in, the Hilton computers were down even though we had already booked. Once they came back online, they couldn't find our reservation from Booking. Later, at 10 PM, strangers who didn't wear any ID were sent to our room to “register” and claimed we hadn’t paid, which felt like a robbery scam and nearly made my adult daughter call the police. The front desk never apologized or offered the famous warm cookie, and the next morning they had already run out of coffee, forcing my wife to chase someone down to get a cup.
