“Will go back!”
The spot offers a stunning lake view that’s truly amazing, and the lady at the front desk was super friendly and made check‑in a breeze. The food cooked on site was also excellent. Nothing else to note.

The view of the lake is beautiful, the furnishings are nice, and the staff are pleasant. I didn’t mention it to the staff when I left, but there is a bed that squeaks!

The chef was fantastic—his dishes were delicious, he was kind, thoughtful, attentive, and we had great conversation. I highly recommend the restaurant. However, the owner was rude and unhelpful; she scolded us because our single bag was too large for the old house and claimed the property isn’t for people like us who don’t have a car. After a long two‑day trip and a five‑hour passport control ordeal, that was the last thing we needed. The property’s remote location with limited public transport—only a bus that hardly runs—is not mentioned anywhere. When I asked for the bus schedule, she ignored my message. This was my first time traveling here, so I was unaware of these details, and instead of being helpful, we were scolded. It was the worst stay of my life. There were no pillows on my bed except the main double bed, and on the last day the owner took all the coffee away, which felt a bit spiteful. I got the impression she didn’t like South Africans or English speakers, and I left feeling like a nuisance.

The location and the charm of the old villa are lovely, with a romantic atmosphere and a nice dinner. The evening breeze was refreshing, and the lake view is great. Unfortunately, they couldn’t offer breakfast due to a small issue, but they did provide a pod coffee machine. The canopy bed is beautiful, but it squeaks with even the slightest movement, disrupting sleep.
