The spot is magical right next to the Port Brillet pond, with a green garden to stroll and a nice terrace for a drink; the small, quiet hotel has a hearty breakfast and a traditional table, and the staff are welcoming. The only downside was the TV that kept playing in the dining room, which I had to ask to be turned off.

Dinner at the attached restaurant was the best, thanks to a wonderful chef who truly creates magic in the kitchen and fulfills every wish; the room had everything it needed. However, the furnishings and the recent renovation were purely functional, lacking any aesthetic touch—except maybe a summer curtain instead of the heavy fleece‑lined one—and the toilet paper dispenser was irritating, a feature that made the once lovely house feel less deserving.

Breakfast was good and served by a smiling person, but we were met by a young man who, while professional, was not very friendly; we expected a dinner we’d seen online, yet received a supposedly “resident‑only” meal that felt overpriced, with minimal explanation from the young man.

Everything was perfect, except there was no air conditioning.
