The history and the staff were great, and the location is fantastic—charming in every way. The downside was mold in the shower and the bathtub had bubbles that didn’t work.

Breakfast was good and delivered to the room, the location offers lovely valley views and nice gardens, though it’s a bit hilly for my husband. The house’s character is superb; minor flaws like cracks in the window, a leaking sink, and a broken toilet seat didn’t take away from the historic feel.

I loved this place. It’s a beautiful old building run by a family, and although it’s a short uphill walk from town, it’s still very manageable.

The spot was spot on and the apartment was roomy with everything you could ask for, plus a complimentary drink each day that was a nice touch. The staff were very welcoming. We did have a hiccup: the apartment wasn’t ready when we arrived, but that wasn’t a big deal because we hadn’t finished a long drive. The whirlpool didn’t work; they’d left a note about withered pipes from lockdown and missing parts (something that should have been in the booking). There was damp on the ceiling and the windows wouldn’t open, so it got very warm at night.
