Breakfast was simple, the staff were always available if something was missing, the espresso machine was broken so filter coffee was supplied, the location is great, the fourth‑floor rooms were very quiet with no neighbor noise and almost none from the street, and the bathroom even had a bidet, something you usually only see in five‑star hotels. The hotel is very old, the large bathroom had a tub but no shower and I simply dislike shower curtains that cling to the body, the room was clean but had stains on the floor and walls, breakfast was solid but overpriced for the price, so I would not choose it again, which brings me down two points.

The location is great and the breakfast is appealing, but none of the photos on the website match the room we received; the room is dark (we had to keep lights on all day) with two windows facing a narrow building gap (a kind of Bauwich), the window panes are ornamental glass, and pigeons live in the gap, loudly cooing in the morning—opening the windows is impossible due to dirt and noise, so the room is almost windowless. The shower and toilet are separate; the toilet area is about 1 m², so we had to be careful not to hit our heads on the door when getting up (we are both about 174 cm tall and weigh 72 kg, not particularly large). The shower drain was clogged, which we complained about after breakfast, but it was not cleaned that day or the next morning, so we had to leave without showering. We did not book a room with a view of a landmark, but it would have been more honest if another room’s appearance were shown for the €284 we paid for two nights for two adults with breakfast. When the discrepancy between images and reality is large, we would have liked a choice at booking.

“Das Hotel ist empfehlenswert.”

I enjoyed a decent breakfast and the location is perfect, right in the center, but there’s no parking available.
