Hotel Alt‑Ringlein, a half‑timbered gem first recorded in 1302, sits amid Bamberg’s UNESCO‑listed old quarter. Its rooms feature TV, Wi‑Fi, and private baths. Guests dine on Franconian specialties in the on‑site restaurant, then relax in the summer beer garden overlooking the Kaiserdom cathedral. The hotel’s central position places the pedestrian area, Old Town Hall, and Michaelsberg within easy walking distance.

The location was superb and everything matched my expectations; the room was cozy and small, the breakfast was also very good, and despite the late‑night deliveries making the outside a bit chilly, it was bearable, and the restaurant was excellent. For me, everything was very good!

The location was fine, but at breakfast there was no one to tell me where it was because it was in a separate room; the food itself was actually quite good, just unclear where to find it. During check‑out I had to wait ten minutes for someone to appear, which is the usual check‑out time, though there might be a reason for that. As with breakfast, no one was available to ask questions. If you arrive early and want to leave a bag to wander the town, the hotel remains closed until 3 pm check‑in time. I managed to have lunch and a few beers until 3 pm and only had hand luggage.

The location was perfect in the center and breakfast was good, but the beds were terribly soft.
