The location and historic building are great, and there’s nothing negative.

The location was great, but the rooms could use a makeover; the room had a noticeable sewage smell, and the shower in the shared room was unusable for my group. The lounge had a tiny bar that was impractical, and the staff's little office was oddly placed right in the lounge.

We had a very pleasant stay at Château de Fère; the setting is gorgeous, with a magnificent castle, a large garden, and a particularly relaxing atmosphere. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and our room was beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast was a real highlight: plentiful, high quality, and varied. We also enjoyed dinner, which was good, though the prices were a bit high. Spa access costs €29 per person, and the facilities—jacuzzi, sauna, and hammam—are very clean and seem new. We do wish the outdoor pool were heated, as it’s hard to use in September or October. Despite these minor issues, we highly recommend this place for a romantic getaway or a green weekend. At just 1 h 30 from Paris, it’s a lovely spot to escape and enjoy a charming setting.
