“Das Zimmer mit diesem Bad nicht wieder.”
We were moved to the partner hotel Klüschenberg, probably because otherwise we would have been the only guests at Hotel Reke. That was fine, since we could also use the evening restaurant there. The staff were very friendly, the food tasty, and the atmosphere good. The room itself was clean, the mattresses excellent, and we slept well. The bathroom is old; the sink, toilet, tub and floor were clean, but there were still the usual mold and mildew spots: the gasket rubber of the splash guard on the tub, its hinge, and various seams around the tub were modern but still worn. The cabinet under the sink had an old sewage leak and now serves as a visibly damaged cabinet. I couldn’t see myself in the mirror while blow‑drying because there is no ventilation, exhaust, or window in the bathroom. The hair dryer’s low power didn’t help much. The only towel rack was the one shown in the photo, not very nice. The luggage rack rattled against the cabinet and wall with every movement; only after I wedged something in between did our neighbors have peace. The wooden window brackets need to be tightened and readjusted. The board behind the headboard also rattles when the pillow is placed right on it and you turn in bed. I won’t book a room like this again.
