The view was gorgeous and the place was quiet, plus the breakfast spread was generous. The fridge was a bit broken and the building feels old, so bring a bug spray if you’re planning to swim in the pool – otherwise the flies can be a nuisance.

We loved everything – spotless, comfy rooms with all the gear, and the whole property is laid out to give guests the best experience. The pool is a bonus, and breakfast was top-notch. The owners were incredibly helpful and friendly, so we’ll definitely come back.

The location, breakfast, rooms, view, cleanliness, and staff friendliness were all spot on. The only downside is that there’s no dinner service in the summer, but there are plenty of nearby options.

You get a Sommercard from day one. The surroundings are lovely, the breakfast is good and they even had gluten‑free bread. I had direct contact with the owner, who sorted out bike storage. Free table tennis and a cute relaxation corner by the pool. The walls are thin, doors creak, breakfast could use more variety, and the sauna is paid in summer but free in winter.

A short summer holiday at a wonderfully friendly family‑run pension. The staff are very welcoming, offering advice and help with day trips. Der Zirbenhof is an excellent base for all the activities this peaceful, beautiful place offers.
