The 23 Mayfield Guest House offered a truly remarkable stay, with family rooms that were both cozy and thoughtfully arranged; the original décor added genuine character and charm, distinguishing it from more generic options. The owners and staff went above and beyond, providing exceptional service that made us feel genuinely welcomed and well cared for. Honestly, there was nothing that could have been better—aside from jokingly wishing we could have stayed longer.

The exterior of the house was very pretty. It was a bit off‑center, but a bus service a few meters away was efficient and frequent for heading into the heart of Edinburgh. The neighbourhood was very quiet. Inside, it was very warm and nicely decorated in an old‑fashioned style. The hosts were friendly and helpful, offering plenty of practical information about tours, restaurants, and more.
