Bakkakot 1 - Cozy Cabins in the Woods

The place was fairly welcoming, warm, and easily reachable, but it isn’t really my style to fill rooms with objects, and I think the garden could have been cared for much more—there was a broken jump rope, deflated balloons on the floor, a snow shovel left in the patio of our cabin, other junk on the floor, a dirty entry rug, and many other small details that, together, made the accommodation lose quality and refinement. It’s clear the place is a bit dated and left to decay; the TV inside is very old and we couldn’t get it to work even though it was written that Disney Plus and Netflix would be available. It’s a shame because it would have had great potential.

“아쉬움도 있지만 또 오고 싶은 곳이었어요”

The view and surrounding scenery were lovely, and the space looked even more charming in person than in the photos; my husband, who wanted to stay in the city, was very satisfied after arrival, and the autumn backdrop made the accommodation so pretty and cozy that I regret only staying one night—if I ever visit Iceland again, I definitely want to come back. However, it’s an old log cabin, and the kitchen appliances are outdated; the toaster and electric kettle show wear and rust, which was disappointing, and there were no kitchen tissues.

“Cute cottage in the woods.”

Set at the back of the owners’ property, it offers complete privacy; a charming town at the hill’s base made for a relaxing walk upon arrival, and there was nothing to dislike.
