Hoshidekan Ryokan, a 1920s wooden building and member of the Japanese Inn Group, is located 500 meters from Kintetsu Iseshi Train Station. Traditional Japanese-style rooms feature paper screens, tatami floors, and futon bedding. Shared baths, a courtyard garden, and free on-site parking are available. The Geku Ise Shrine is an 18-minute walk away.

The location isn’t far from the train station, and the ryokan feels very traditional with authentic Japanese rooms. It’s a charming place, but you have to stick to the scheduled bath or shower times and leave the room to use the toilet. They swapped out the toilets, so there are no standing toilets left.

The genuine Japanese experience. The same family has run it for four generations. The onsen on site is lovely. Traditional Japanese breakfast and warm hospitality. If you don’t like hard futon beds, this isn’t for you.

A charming authentic ryokan right next to the historic Kawasaki street. We felt welcomed and even honored when our Lithuanian flag was displayed at the entrance. The street makes the daytime a bit noisy, but that’s normal for a vacation spot. At night it’s quiet enough for good sleep. The traditional breakfast was generous. The inner garden and the little red bridge are delightful. It’s a must‑stay in Ise, just as Ise itself is a must‑visit in central Japan.
