Marie Luis and Henry were fantastic hosts; we spent the whole afternoon with Henry exploring the island at a relaxed pace, while Marie Luis cooked amazing meals and shared a lot about the area. The room was perfect, offering a great view, a comfortable bed, and a hot shower. Thanks a ton for everything, though I wish I could have stayed longer.

We had a great time with Henry and Mariluz, who greeted us warmly and escorted us to the Amantani Lodge for a two‑night stay. On the first night, Henry took us up to watch Pachatata and Pachamama at sunset, which was breathtaking. The next morning we trekked the 10 km path around the island, taking just over three hours, with no toilets or shops along the way. The lodge offered plenty of downtime—“Descansar!”—and we ate all our meals there, which was a treat. We traveled from Puno by Uber to the port near Playa Chifron, then took the ferry across. On the way back, we rode a taxi from Playa Chifron up to Capachica and then a collectivo back to Puno; both options worked well. It’s better for the hosts to handle reservations directly, as booking through an agent in Puno incurs a higher commission, something I discovered myself. The shower was nice and hot with good flow.

מאמא מירולז מקסימה וחמה - הכינה לנו 3 ארוחות טעימות ביום ודאגה לכל צרכינו. האי מטריף ביופיו, החדרים מקסימים עם נוף ישיר לאגם. אין יופי כזה. האי אותנטי, בפלאזה אנשים רוקדים בתלבושות המסורתיות שלהם. חלום. הכריות הגבוהות הקשו לישון
