The location is wonderful amid the fynbos, and the host and hostess, Kate and Blessed, are superb. The only downside is that the lodge’s location could be better marked on the R43, and the lodge name isn’t on the gate.

The housekeeper couple is incredibly friendly, making you feel well cared for and welcomed; the food is very tasty, though a bit pricier than eating elsewhere, and the breakfast is great. The location is beautiful, very secluded and remote, with unique views and sunsets; if you want more buzz, this place probably won’t satisfy you. It didn’t disturb us much, but the open bathroom in the room means less privacy than you might expect or want. There’s no TV in the room, though one is available in the large living/dining area.

The views are lovely and the place is quiet; the hosts are fantastic and the breakfast is nice. Nothing else to note—everything was perfect.
