The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. The lady at the bar was polite and helpful. Everything was clean and the room’s facilities were good, with body wash, shampoo and conditioner supplied. The parking is a short walk to a paid public car park. Dinner service ended at 7 pm. The bar’s music could be heard in the bedroom, and I wished there were decaf coffee sachets.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is ideal for exploring Chepstow and the Wye valley, and the staff handled hikers with muddy shoes well. The rooms are small but comfortable. The en‑suite shower was very small.

Breakfast and the staff were great. The room was very old and dusty, and urgent repairs are needed because the floor and ceiling in the room I stayed in look like they might collapse. The bed sheets and towels were clean. The photos online look totally different.

I didn’t order breakfast, but the staff were very cheerful to chat with and extremely helpful. Their directions were very useful. I loved this place and its people.
