University of Exeter - Holland Hall

“Really great, comfortable, great breakfast. I just wish the geography department in cornwall was going to stay open and”

It was really nice, cozy and comfortable. I’m really sad that Cole has shut down; it’s a geography department and the only one in the next county is on this site. Nothing else was wrong, but it’s upsetting to see millions of pounds worth of development there and the shutting down of one of the best geography departments in Cornwall.

Not much to say. Breakfast was reasonable. The room was very basic, like a student room, as it was! Parking and access were terrible; I had to drive a mile away and then walk back, a shorter distance admittedly, through unlit, unclear areas to get back to the room. This would be impossible for anyone with mobility issues and possibly unsettling for a lone female. I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

“felt like i was an inmate on the USS Bottany Bay”

The halls are badly laid out, and the common room is in a separate building. I was in the 70s borstal wing, which looked nothing like the pictures advertising it; it was more like the prison cell I had on Varosh 5. There were no shops open, and the whole place was built on a cliff. The heat was a problem, ventilation was poor, and there was no fan or TV.

The bedroom and bathroom were excellent, the wet‑room shower was superb and you didn’t have to climb in or out; staff were fantastic, the location was good, the room was nice and warm, the beds were comfortable, the place was quiet, and the balcony upstairs offered superb views over Exeter.

“Great value for money plus a good breakfast..”

The room was clean, the price was reasonable, and it was close to the venue, but there was no TV.
