We liked staying here because it sat right amid date palm farms and we could walk to the farms or the abandoned village, plus a few cafés were within walking distance. The room felt a bit dark, so I’d have appreciated brighter lighting; I understood the property was a traditional Omani home and expected some darkness. The original sign was removed from the house, making it hard to locate at first, and the one‑way roads were unknown to us—having that info beforehand would have helped.

The location in the palm grove was nice, and even with the high outside temperature the indoor climate was pleasant in the old adobe building without AC, but the breakfast was extremely bland and sparse, the service was absent, the courtyard was pretty yet untidy, and we missed the customary friendliness and helpfulness we’d expect in this area.

“not worth the money charged”

The only thing that impressed me was the heritage building itself; everything else feels generic. Breakfast was plain, and the Bangladeshi staff seemed indifferent, just focused on getting through their tasks. Nobody offered to carry my luggage from the car into the room, and the price feels steep for what you get.
