The rooms are clean and the location makes it easy to find cars to go to the temple, although the lane is narrow. The staff are friendly. You can’t use the lift without a room key, so if no staff are around you have to climb the stairs. Breakfast offers few options and the beds aren’t extra large.

Hotel Atharv in Kolhapur was a huge letdown. The images online were very different from what we actually got. The rooms are so cramped that we felt suffocated. Room service was awful—dirty plates sat outside our room all day and nobody bothered to pick them up. Calls to room service never answered. I’ve never seen such bad service at a hotel before. My stay was far below expectations, and I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I was impressed by how quickly and politely every staff member handled me, and the room layout was thoughtfully arranged even though the rooms were quite small. However, the cab driver the hotel recommended was disappointing; I ended up using Kolhapurtaxi.com or Haripriya Car Rental instead and was much happier with their service.
