This beautiful location keeps the guest suite attached to the main house while remaining entirely private; it is well laid out, has a stunning view, and the furnishings are all high quality—a truly well‑thought‑through suite. The hosts are absolutely lovely and incredibly accommodating, and there are many thoughtful additions that provide everything needed for a very comfortable stay. It is one of the best places we have stayed, and the hosts gave excellent local food recommendations, plus they have a lovely dog! The only comment we could make is that there isn’t a full‑length mirror, but we completely understand that it might not fit somewhere.

We stayed in a newly refurbished annex that offered a clear view over the valley, exactly what we expected from an isolated country retreat away from any amenities. As seasoned walkers, we left our car and walked down the hill to local pubs for dinner, and the proprietors were wonderful, giving solid advice about footpaths and pubs. The bed was very comfortable, and on the morning of departure we discovered it was an electric adjustable mattress—wish we’d known earlier! We were aware breakfast wasn’t included, so we brought our own basics. The description that “meals can be prepared in the well‑fitted kitchenette” seemed a bit ambitious beyond scrambled eggs; we had no intention of cooking, so it wasn’t an issue, just a surprise.
