The large communal bath was the only bright spot. The hotel marketed itself as a sleep‑focused retreat, yet the pillows in the lobby were thin and I woke up several times during the night. I think the traffic on the main road in front of the building and occasional building sway caused the noise. It didn’t feel like a comfortable space at all. The pillows in the room were both cushions, not proper pillows, which is unsuitable for Japanese guests. The staff should ask whether guests prefer cushions or pillows at check‑in. I booked two rooms, but I was charged a separate tax for a single room; this should have been clearly stated at the time of booking. The foreign staff were caring, but the Japanese female staff seemed abrupt and unhelpful.

The public bath was nice and the breakfast, while simple, was above average.

The hotel was very clean, I could choose my pillow and it was comfortable, and the amenities were all there; the hallway felt a bit cold.
