The spot is quiet, surrounded by a golf course and plenty of greenery. We even got a discount on food and drinks as guests.

The mansion is absolutely beautiful, with stained glass windows and staircases that keep catching your eye. The restaurant was excellent and the staff were great. The stairs are a bit challenging and there’s no lift, so checking that beforehand would have helped.

Breakfast was excellent. The place is cold, so an electric blanket in the bed would have been nice.

The setting is stunning, the grounds gorgeous, and the location good. The staff are helpful and friendly. The stairs are a problem: I asked for an accessible bathroom and was told there’s a step into the bathroom and a small step into the shower, which was doable for my elderly mother. I didn’t think to ask about the stairs to reach the room, which involved two flights of stairs, a corridor, and a small set of stairs into her room—totally unmanageable!
