“Had a wonderful vacation and very friendly staff. The location is Marvellous .”
I liked the location and the setup. The washrooms, phone, and TV should be much cleaner, and the equipment ought to be functioning properly.
The view was great. The hotel feels outdated and isolated from everything; even services like Pic Me and Uber don’t reach Rambulla Falls. The corner room had been repainted and some updates like new curtains were made, but the bathroom was cramped, the sink cabinet was dirty and moldy, the shower flooded, hot water took a long time to arrive, then suddenly became scaldingly hot, risking burns. In short, it was small, cramped, and oppressive, especially with all the inconveniences mentioned. On the first night we dined at the restaurant and my partner got sick; the Nasi goreng was stale. The staff were friendly, but the managers seemed to exploit the isolation to offer chauffeured transport at outrageous prices. On one occasion we felt genuinely cheated and treated like naïve tourists, even though my partner has been traveling worldwide for 40 years. We left after just two days and chose to waste the remaining two. The corridors leading to our room reminded me of those in Shinnig.Lost Paradise.
“Geweldig verblijf met adembenemend uitzicht”
A truly prime spot right by the waterfall, with breathtaking views and another larger cascade just a five‑minute walk away (entry 200 roubles). Highly recommended. The pool was wonderful, and we booked three luxury bungalows side by side by the pool. The hotel was quiet, the food was good and the staff friendly, plus there’s a pool table and a small gym. Several tea plantations are right nearby for visits.
The view of the waterfall was impressive, and the bar was good. The room was very old. They wouldn’t let me check out until 7.30 am because their bus driver needed to pick us up at the main parking, and they didn’t allow me to walk out either. Those policies were disappointing.
The hotel offers beautiful views. However, the stay was very disappointing. We stayed at Ramboda Falls Hotel for 2 nights as a group of 8, occupying 3 rooms. The property’s location is absolutely stunning, with amazing views of Ramboda Falls, which seems to be the main highlight. The pool looked lovely, but we couldn’t use it because it rained the entire time. The hotel itself feels very outdated and in urgent need of renovation. Our rooms were tired, with broken flooring, and the overall condition of the property did not match our expectations. My son wanted to use the gym, but the equipment was old, broken, and scattered everywhere, making it unsafe and a real letdown.
