Javier’s service was divine, but the space is overcrowded with plants, inside and out, a wall of paintings and personal items that makes it feel full and it’s unclear where to put our stuff. The abundance of plants attracts a lot of mosquitoes. The private bathroom has no door, and the rooms lack TVs. The room we got was about the right size, but the owner’s clutter made it feel very tight. It’s a pity because the location, the place, and Javier’s treatment are lovely; the owner’s stuff is just too much.

Daniel is a super great host, always in touch and helped with everything, and he speaks perfect English. The atmosphere is unique and vibrant, the neighborhood is quiet and green, and it’s close to the beaches. For my taste the place isn’t clean; the maximalist décor left a lot of dust and it feels like a deep cleaning is needed. Also, the location is 40‑45 minutes from the old city, but I figured out the bus and it was fine.
