Mercure Avignon Centre Palais des Papes

The location is fantastic, the rooms are spotless, and the underground parking is close and very secure. I was less than a minute from the Papal Palace, and room 417 offered a great view of the square and the palace. Tea and instant coffee are available in the room. The front‑desk staff were extremely friendly. Check‑in and check‑out were easy. The beds were comfortable, and the two single beds fit perfectly. The bathroom had good products. A nice photo décor above the bed of the palace added charm. There are dozens of local shops right outside the door. No better location exists. The only downside is that the storage box under the mattress has no cover; it’s a minor detail, but I’d suggest the management add one for a better overall impression.

The spot is amazing, practically behind the Papal Palace! The staff were incredibly kind, the room was spacious, and overall it’s a great hotel. I’ll definitely come back.

“I question the level of hotel accom in the area so I would come back to this location”

The staff were great, and the bed and pillows exceeded my expectations. The cleaning crew did a solid job with the resources they had. The location was perfect. The sink behind the faucet was moldy and disgusting; as someone sensitive to mold, I wasn’t happy to see it. The wear and tear suggests maintenance isn’t frequent. I asked to cancel our last day when I checked in, but the desk manager said we should do it on the day we check out and that it was flexible. When checking out, a different staff member told me I was late to cancel and that I couldn’t get a refund. We went back and forth professionally, and she eventually called her manager to check. The manager approved the cancellation.
