“Great place to stay as homebase while exploring Pagosa Springs outdoors”
Breakfast was continental, fresh, and offered plenty of quick options for mornings; the staff I met were friendly and helpful, treating me like a guest rather than a number. The recent ownership change brought serious updates to rooms that fit a traveler’s budget while preserving the small‑town historic feel, and there are plenty of walkable restaurants and shops nearby even though the main downtown area is not even 5 minutes by car. I was glad the inside of RWI was fresh and clean, but travelers used the main door entrance area to smoke instead of the designated shelter out back, which was a bit rough for non‑smokers walking through; parking filled up fast, likely due to RWI’s popularity. I understand the balance of parking lot lights with nature at night, but maybe redirect some toward the back of the lot for better safety. Overall, there were no deal breakers for this affordable, comfy hotel, even with some areas that could improve.
