The room was well equipped and comfortable, and the restaurant was close by.
“Good”
The room setup was great, but there was a plumbing issue.
“Não foi o que eu esperava.”
The room was spacious, with a living area, kitchenette, bedroom, and bathroom; everything worked and most furniture was new. Dominica is not a benchmark for hotels. There’s a hotel in Portsmouth that’s amazing, where we had an international meeting, and the room rate is exorbitant. For budget hotels, quality drops noticeably. Riverside is managed by Chinese people, so everything in the hotel is of Chinese origin, including all the room equipment. I even had trouble using the TV because the remote was in Chinese and all the channels were too. What bothered me most was that my room had two queen‑size beds even though I booked a single‑bed room. With two beds, I couldn’t use the wardrobe or the outlets that were beside the bed if there had been only one bed. I had to push the beds together, and every day after work I had to shove them to open the wardrobe. I complained about this at reception, but although everyone was friendly, there was no concern for customer service. There was no shower; it was just a small shower fixed to the wall instead of a proper shower. Also, the hotel had no reception desk and breakfast only started at 9 am. To wait for transport to the meeting, we had to stand outside the hotel because there were no seats.
The receptionist was very helpful and got me settled in quickly.
“Friendly staff good value. About a mile walk for the grocery store. Also they should give you good directions to the l”
The on‑site restaurant had wonderful staff, but construction was happening so it was noisy.
